Support for children and young people with Down syndrome in Kosovo
The organization Down Syndrome Kosova (DSK) is the only nationally recognized institution in Kosovo that advocates for the rights and well-being of people with Down syndrome. It offers free therapeutic and social services for children, adolescents and adults. Currently, over 300 people benefit directly from these programs, while the community comprises more than 1,000 members.
Unfortunately, these important therapeutic services are at risk. Without urgent financial support, the programs could be discontinued in June 2025, which would mean the loss of essential care services for many.
How your support helps
With your donation you help to ensure that:
- 250 children will continue to have access to speech therapy, developmental support, occupational therapy and physiotherapy.
- 100 young people and adults can take advantage of programs to promote independence and vocational training in order to lead an independent life.
- Over 600 people benefit indirectly from these services and receive the support they need to exercise their rights.
Why your help is important
Without these essential services, the quality of life of people with Down syndrome in Kosovo would deteriorate considerably. Your support ensures the continuation of therapeutic, social and support programs that enable these people to develop their full potential.
